Say, "Cheese!"

Say, "Cheese!"

A Poem by Alex
"

I was helping to peer-tutor in an English class, during first block, and the teacher passed the class out a prompt to write about. The prompt was "Write a poem about an object from the object's perspective." So, a friend, Daniel Dearborn, and I decided to

"

I'm yellow or white
And sometimes surrounded by red.
You'll yearn for me
When you want to be fed.

You feed me to mice
And even some rats,
But don't try to feed me
To your dog or your cats.

I'm sometimes aged
And I'm sometimes new.
I'm good for your bones;
Heck, I'm just good for you!

I may be good,
Oh, yes, that's true
But eat too much
And you'll be clogged, too.

Heat me on toast,
I taste real nice.
I'm delicious when hot
Or when cold as ice.

You can eat me for breakfast,
Lunch or even for dinner.
Eat me enough
And I'm sure you'll look thinner.

Cottage and cream
Are two of my types
But cheddar's the one
Most people seem to like.

I'm vital to life
'Cause I just taste so good.
If you haven't had me
Then I guess you should.

Major props to Daniel (who is also on writerscafe) and his madd writing skillz. My playdough skillz, however, still surpass his. =D

We're just plain awesome. =D And yes, sadly your playdough skillz do surpass mine. *sigh*
But at least you said I have madd writing skillz. =D
That makes up for it!
