Empty Eyes

Empty Eyes

A Poem by Alex

Softly she sings sweet somber lullabys.
What such sad sorrow in her eyes.

She tries

To look behind the lies.

As her shattered heart cries

Asking questions of "how's" and "why's"
She says her goodbye's.
And inside, slowly dies

As she begins to realize
There is nothing behind his eyes.

And so she flies.

if this is a product of boredom, I'd love to see what you can do when you're totally focused. great poem and awesome rythym.

I love this one..
I suck at rhyming so I always enjoy reading someone who can.
Great job!

"There is nothing behind his eyes. And so she flies." seems like a heart felt end to a graceful poem. Also the
technique in the first two lines was a stellar start to good poem.

Makes for a good read

I think the last line takes away from everything else - I mean, it's sort of like when you need a filler line, so you come up with something crazy?
If you just ended it at "There is nothing behind his eyes.", then the message of the poem would carry through better.
But that's just me.:]
