Stars

Stars

A Poem by Alex

Looking at the stars
When I am alone

Is when I'm most accepted

And feel like I am home

The stars, they see me real

With nothing left to hide

With them I put away my sin

My agony and pride

I share the pain they feel

Living only in solitude

They have no voice to speak with

And mine has been subdued

But we can hear each other

Our hearts, they beat as one

We understand each other

Our connection is next to none

I feel the way they feel

Surrounded yet all alone

And whenever I am with them

I feel like I am home

I like the sentiment described here so well and the correlation of the subject and the stars, expressed with vividness in the lines:

I share the pain they feel
Living only in solitude
They have no voice to speak with
And mine has been subdued

I thought that was really quite brilliant and that like the stars, those words well...just twinkled.
