Shine For Me My Moon

Shine For Me My Moon

A Poem by Alex

The warm saline solution rolls down my face in

Uncontrollable waves,
Unhindered even by me.
Fears and doubts flood the innermost workings of my mind.
And here I lie.
Helpless. Lost.
My eyes are dry now, and my soul is drowning.
Drowning in everything I should be,
But am not.
Drowning in things forgotten,
And things too easily remembered.
Drowning, drowning, drowning.
I reach for the surface,
For air,
For salvation.
I do not find it here.
Alone.
No one reaches for me,
And I have nothing to grasp hold to.
My heart, deprived, threatens to cave in at any moment.
I blindly search,
But to no avail.
Still I find no salvation, no relief.
Cries of weakness leave my body,
But remain as nothing more than echoes in a soundless sea.
Fighting. I am always fighting.
But I've grown weary of this endless battle.

My heart gives up and drowns in itself.
I sink to the bottom of this bottomless pit.
Dropping deeper and deeper.
All hope is lost; All fight is gone.
Any glimmer of happiness has vanished
And I reluctantly reside myself to this hell,

This bleak half-existence.
The tide goes in and out.
That is the way of this merciless ocean,
And that is the way of Life.
In and out. In and out.
Always pushing me forewrd, pulling me away.
Testing.
Teasing.
And all I see is the bright moon during
This everlasting night.

Luminious beams bringing me false hope
And bittersweet dreams.

If this poem is true, you sound pretty sad, Alexandria. It is my hope and prayer that things will turn around for you soon. A well written poem. Sam
