Wait On The SunriseA Poem by Cherrie Palmersome poems are but a whisperWait for the sun to rise With the morning light you’ll be alright Don’t cry or fret, salvation will come with the rising of the sun Be brave my lad, as you hunker down and out wait the evil that has you bound Endless darkness will not win if you yield not to your boundless fright and endure this bleak hopeless night Don’t flinch nor quiver from deaths inquiring touch He will pass you by if you can turn a blind eye Don’t run from the screams they are but a trap to snare your soul and take you back Hold firm your stance and look not to the left nor to the right Just hear my voice till the morning light Be brave and bold and stand fast my son With minutes to count the sun will come, and You will find a new swagger in your walk A new sureness in your talk A glow about your face As the sun you embrace
