I'll Be Home For Christmas

I'll Be Home For Christmas

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

my grandma passed away this morning

"

"I’ll Be Home For Christmas," were my first words spoken after the fact.

The foggy veil of humanity lifted and my first clear sight was the gates of pearl. Those gates were not closed as if no one was home but flung wide open waiting for my appearing. My Mother and Father stood by my banner of welcome with brothers and sisters galore. My beloved stood in the center with a holy kiss and a hug. Joy flooded my soul as once again my memories sprang to life. God’s love filled my being as the longings of my soul were instantly satisfied. Then our Lord and I took a walk as we reviewed my life. He was pleased with my years of service, and pleased with those I’ve taught.  My last hope and thought of the earth below was for all of mine to serve the Lord.

A bow my head in respect and give my condolences...

home is where the heart is and as long as you hold a loved one in your heart they are always home.
