Dazzling White

Dazzling White

A Poem by Cherrie

The full weight of winter’s lace hugged the land and every space.

All but last spring’s tender pine. That shocked its cover and reached its green head to the sky.

Whose light shined in neon beauty and whose warmth was tempered by the foul north wind.

Yes, the sun's strength waned as the north brut waxed full, and most of God’s creatures curled up tight on the Earth below.

All, but the bear who, in his den welcomed his powdered cover and the eagle that soared the thermals on high.

As I beheld a world of rime that gleamed in a dazzling white in the valley below and gave thanks for my humble home.

some very clever use of vocabulary to create this scene....the clash as warmth and comfort vie against cold hard winter.
nicely done, Cherrie,
