Heaven’s Balcony

Heaven’s Balcony

A Poem by Cherrie

Heaven’s lanai
A grand overlook
Of His majesty.

God’s own handiwork
Gold spun glass.
That never dulls
But shines with each new step.

This allay of living amber
Renews the journeyman’s path.
Yes, even Heaven’s floor offers solace.

Just as His presence is a nexus
Of His glory and His command
To live, freely flowing within
All of His creation.

Each dram of His light Shines without end.
On contact it melds with every
Breath and I fall to my knees.

I cup my brawl trying to
Lessen its sinew.
This blinding light that
Shines upon my soul
Piercing my spirit
Even unto my past.

From my earthly hovel
I kneel on my enlace.
Tears of regret stain its borders
And are quickly replaced with joy.

Wafting prayers are ferried away
Vespers of praise open Heaven’s gate.

Angels who have served Him
Without time.
Slow their pace to see my face
And ponder my existence.

How a creature so flawed
Could move the hand of God.
And though my attempts
To serve will pale in their measure
Nevertheless will I surrender.

I wish we had more of this...faith in a kind deity...than the need to prove who is more powerful by starting wars.
You make the angels smile.
