Who Knew

Who Knew

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

The river called for me to see.
To dip my toes into its stream,
and in my kayak I joined the flow.
To fight the current as I go.

The Sun rose high and called a cloud, so, I stayed all the while.

Roaring cicadas filled the air and Winters fury was no where near. With burning skin still I smiled and with a renewed purpose I logged each mile.

There always seem to be music and hope in the running of a stream or river... and you, dear friend have laid both and more in your beautiful words, Cherrie.

' The Sun rose high and called a cloud, so, I stayed all the while.

Roaring cicadas filled the air and Winters fury was no where near. With burning skin still I smiled and with a renewed purpose I logged each mile.'

Sounds like it would be a lovely day. nature seems one of the best ways to remember just how small we are. Your words are always big though...nicely done.
