Unaware

Unaware

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

I know you’ve been waiting on me,

for your splendid light to see.

But in this haze, it could not be.

Till this morning unaware,

your brilliant light lifted my despair.

As salmon pink skimmed the shore,

and your warming glow filled the moor.

The endless night now was gone,

And a bright Winter’s Day followed the dawn.

Dear friend, tis said we can find our own remedies.. and see how true that can be. Dawn's gradual arrival is utterly breath-taking. Your words suggest what is found in the dawn - Light, takes its time.. but once found is there with and for a searching but hopeful spirit. Here to hold hands...

A wonderful poem.

Yes. In the depths of the night our eyes adjust. It's not till morning we can truly see.

A beautiful poem that seems inspired by wonderful sunrise. And I can say, a sunrise is some of the best poetic inspiration I have found. Really nice.

Beautifully laid, Dear Cherrie 🍒

I love your metaphors, smooth/even syntactic flow, deeply emotive embraces, how the wonder of your fertile imagination dances upon the page, spot-on rhythm 'n rhymes, but most of all, expressions of the hope-filled, new, 🌈 joyfully-brighter days to come.

To my mind's-eye, Dear Cherrie, your best work to date … thank you ever-so gratefully for openly sharing such a sincere part of You.
Warmest blessings to You on that bright, salmon-pink shore in 2024 ⁓ Richard 🌤

I really liked reading this. It's like I can feel the warmth of the winter sun and see the beautiful colors reflecting off the shore. The way you describe the transition from darkness to light is amazing too.
