Turning Every Stone

Turning Every Stone

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

You sought me out. Looking for every hidden jewel.
Yes, in the garden of my heart you lived, turning over every little stone.
Our love complete lacking nothing but you, my love.

A fitting poem for Valentine's day. Softly written in sadness and anticipation.

dear Cherrie… a most romantic and melancholy poem as though you were in a Church Garden where Angels Pray, especially for you… I see the Statues that embrace the loneliness of loss… leaving bread crumbs for the Birds that keep in touch… my friend… Pat

Blessings and thoughts. Your words, although brief, offer amazing and all-loving inspiration, Cherrie. Seems you and your darling were, always will be, close and somehow confident enough, to talk about everything - whether obvious or hidden. That is what should happen; not overly archaic advice from by-standers or books that teach you how. You, dear one, are - a complete person: a wonderful human being. ' You sought me out. Looking for every hidden jewel.'

I might be off on your meaning but to me this writing reminds me of the timeless quote "Oh my friends! There is no friend" But with love.

The real author of that quote is unknown, it's one of the oldest in civilization. They say Aristotle used to say it to all his fans before he would speak, as a way of mocking superficial attachments. But I guess it goes back further than that. The Sumerians had a version of it 10 thousand years ago. I think humans have always known, if you find too much of something... you might lose entirely the essence of what it was. Human culture works better in small groups, large groups augment inherently neurotic superficial behavior (social media, ad revenue model).

Sorry. I didn't mean to get this into it... I always do to many drugs around the holidays. It makes me crazy.

Good poem though... you've got good mojo.

Such cynical beauty if that is not an oxymoron. Even if it is I still like this complete love poem for cynics.

Good morning Ken and I appreciate your take on this poem. Thank you.
Seek and you will find, and he did. You were loved and cherished Cherrie. Your heart’s garden a beautiful place to reside. Both of you had something very special.
