All we needed was each other to face anything. My friend, confidant and lover. My husband and greatest love. You left me all to soon. Leaving me empty forcing me to dig deep for the reserve of our strength.
Ah too many of us know this loss. But sometimes it is where are art is birthed. My sincere condolescences.

I would like to say that it is getting easier. No the hell I don't! Because, I never want to forget her, or cease missing her, ever of never! But, I am learning, as best as I can, to live and go on without her here with me. I have a Doctor friend who lost his wife 6 years ago. I asked him if it ever gets any better. He stated, flat out and without any hesitation, NO!!! And turned around and walked away. So, those fools who believe that damn fool who said that time heals all wounds, are idiots, and that fool who uttered those words never lost someone who was the very reason for living in the first place. My wife was the light and love of my life, though I failed so miserably, while she was alive, to tell her so. Hindsight is a B***h (no gender inferred).
I am very sorry to hear of your loss, and hope that you do glean that I can and do empathize with your pain and feeling of loss that shall never alleviate, nor fade away, for as long as you do remember, reminisce upon how much you loved him, as I did love my wife. All I can say is this: Live in his honor, in preserving his memory, in keeping your memories of you and he alive and burning forever brightly, and, perhaps, that as doing so within your gift of Poetry.
The light of true love never dies, though the flame may flicker out appear to go out.

I feel alittle bit like myself today. Instead of a empty weight I must drag along. Even though I did cry today at the copier for no apparent reason. I shook it off pretty quickly and I'll do it again tomorrow.

Thank you for your encouragement.
I don't have the words to even begin to express my condolences properly. Although I know I'm a stranger on the internet, the pain in your words is very real. But so is the strength you two have. I come from a belief that our loved ones may pass, but they never really leave. You carry with you his love. There is nothing I could say to take away that loss, but I believe he still loves you very much.
My heart feels your own in this milestone travail in your life, M'Dear … but remember, and gain great comfort in your days ahead in knowing that, for every tactile sense of loss, there'll remain and grow sweet memories to comfort each grief-filled moment.
In addition, if nowhere else, never forget the many here who love you and will wrap our arms around you in your time of need now and in your days ahead … you need but reach out anytime, often as desired ⁓ never hesitate.
Cherrie,
Here's something that may gift a touch of comfort, as it did for me when composing it during my own poignant hours:

"ON LIFE and DEATH"
~ stepping into eternity ~
"From the unknown we come, to the unknown we return,
endlessly brilliant flashes in the infinitely ethereal."
... THE SUN ...
setting at one point, rises at another.
Every moment in its motion
is an eternal, uninterrupted rising and setting.
For, as the sun
rises in its setting and sets in its rising,
... so is Life and Death ...
We die when we are born
and
are born when we die.
Death⁓Sunrise⁓Birth⁓Sunset
ALL THIS....
is but the thoughts~dreams~fears
of the
Blind and Sleeping;
for, all Life
is a death beginning,
and all Death
is a life continuing,
neither apart, one from the other.
In contemplation to the "impossibility"
of coming from nowhere and going to nowhere
~ with no source and no destination ~
this realization brings great comfort
from the loss of those who have left us
...that...
there has to be a somewhere else for Them ~ for Us.
