To the Wild we go

To the Wild we go

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Past the lane and past the del

Beyond the drink and thru the veil

To the Wild we go to the Wild you know.

Where flowers sing and whisper to the breeze.

As muted shadows dance in the valleys.

To the Wild we go to the Wild you know.

A land bejeweled forever Spring.

A land of color where hearts can sing.

To the Wild we go to the Wild you know.

A Fairytale, a twilight fib

Ageing backwards with every trip
We go.

So this is where the wild things go. Good idea going backwards like that curious case of Benjamin Bottoms I think his name was. But I think you're fibbing about that. Would that be this form? A space fib?

Thank you Ken. Seems like the only traveling I get to do these days is with my pen.
There's such a wonderfully uplifting feel to this poem. It cheered me Instantly. The repetition reinforced it all. The thought of going to such a magical place where there's colour and song and all sorrows dim. I loved it!

Yes I agree. On the edge of a community it doesn't feed that place in our soul. But when deep in 5h.. read more
I think I am aging backwards, Cherrie.
I relate to this...and while reading I was humming Kacey Musgraves' "love is a wild thing"---

Only way to do it. :)
This was a fun read this morning. Very happy go lucky and childlike in its scenes created. Sing-songy, if that is correct grammar and if not, too bad. This poem feels like it moves downhill or is something spoken while sliding down a slide. Nice one Cherrie.

You are welcome 😊.
I've noticed that too, the Ageing backwards time travelling every time the happiest memories are recalled. Some say it's only because we get older that the recollections feel younger, but I usually just stick my tongue out to them and run away 😊
Maybe it's those wonderful memories that keep us young and the picture our minds relive so crystal clear we wonder if HD and bluray were invented just to show the world what a real memory looks like.
Your words here make it not such a surprise if you woke up from dreaming it with a bunch of freshly cut wild flowers next to you. 😊
