Rise and ShineA Poem by CherrieSlowly I snaked my arm from beneath the covers, and hit snooze. What is ten more minutes? I ask myself, with eyes still closed. A Friday morning must for one thing. Time to contemplate the day. While waiting on the automatic coffee pot. Dolly my miniature Aussie nudges me. “Rise and shine sleepyhead,” I imagine her to say. groaning at her. In reply she wines, nudging me once again. Reminding me that the day pivots around my rising, so, I do. I thank the Lord for this new day. Asking him for grace enough to cover it. © 2023 CherrieReviews
