Autumn’s moon,
is brightly arrayed.
The mounted jewel,
crests its ring.
As dancing cranes,
beneath it sing.
And the garden’s blooms,
sway with the breeze.
What lovely verse and vision. I really like the artwork too, is it yours? The abrupt perspective is reminiscent of Japanese art which I've always been a fan of.

I like to draw too but my eight year old is a real artist. She's quite remarkable for her age. She just sent a picture she drew in markers off to her sister in Alaska. I was like, She's going to frame this...

That is exciting to watch. See her grow in creativity and skill.
Oh how I do so love to read your poems dear cherrie.
Yours will be the last and most wonderful one this evening that I read, as I now must go and finish making the fish stew I started hours ago...
Lisa, now in Spain
Beautiful artwork and amazing words shared dear Cherrie. You create for the reader. A beautiful place and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

cranes are art
many cultures place them in a point of 'spiritual reverence'
your write gives life to their 5 letter species
i am most fortunate to live where the crane can make appearances now and then to my chicken/duck enclosure to take a meal from their troughs
30+ min drive i can view thousands and thousands of swans and snow geese for their winter residence
what a grand world we do live ... except for the creature man
and they do dance, their songs in a tune of their own
dearest Cherrie.. my daughter gave me two Artistic Rose metal Cranes standing Tall for our Front Yard. They Greet each day and Season with renewed Amazing Grace. Your words have captured the Beauty of touching 💕 hearts. tenderly, Pat
This poem has nice cadence. Maybe it's just me, and billigami, but it felt like an origami mobile of words. Cranes made of metal and spinning around in the breeze.
I've been trying to catch up with everyone. Thought I'd read Cherrie today expecting to spend the day reading a dozen new poems. Surprised to only find one. Hope all is well with you?

The pull to squeeze in a poem here and there is growing so. I think I will be writing again very soon.
Funny thing is I think of a good poem unfolding. A origami in reverse (so to speak). The title catches your eye then it unfolds before the reader, revealing its bounty.
I am a published poet and love poetry. After a lifetime of country living, I'm making a move back to town. I find my surroundings a great inspiration to me. I also have two books on Amazon Kindle: .. more..
