Relief

Relief

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

The promise of perception fills the air; as I sit in my chair praying on high.

With absence of wind I hear echoes of thunder roll in. My hopes for a shower building in the East.

The land needs refreshment, and the forest animals relief.

Finally, I go about the business of the day, with my seed of hope waiting to be blessed by the rain.

Oh how I enjoyed your short poem Cherrie...
I loved how it flowed along so smoothly.
I love the line "with my seed of hope waiting to be blessed by the rain. "
Funny how a single line can stay with me for hours and hours...

Our forest animals suffer the most without the percentage of rainfall. We can adapt, but their delicate lives hang in the balance. Beautiful ending you gave this piece, Cherrie..."with my seed of hope waiting to be blessed by the rain".

Thank you Kelly.
I totally agree. A drought is evil for the earth and mankind...if the earth doesn't get nourished then nothing will grow and that in itself will drastically affect the life of human beings who live off of the earth's bounty.
Just take because a peek at certain parts of Africa....people starving to death because of lack of rain for months, years..
Best, B

Dear Cherrie, I think we all long for some refreshing rain in the East. Sadly it doesn't look as though that is on the horizon. I see thunder clouds and lightning strikes in the foreseeable future. We must however not give up on hope and keep looking for that glimmer of hope. With out that we are lost.
