Coaxing Tomorrow

Coaxing Tomorrow

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

With care let us ease the day away,
and before we close the door to rest,
sing to tomorrow a greeting of care.
Let a tender voice be offered.
Coaxing her to yield her golden rays.
While we determine,
in our own heart.
To make the most of the new day.

This sounds beautiful to the ear and eases the day into being. Reminds me also of Robert Frost's 'Nothing Gold Can Stay,' which Susie Hinton used quite magnificently in her book, 'The Outsiders.' Thanks so much for sharing, Cherrie.

I really like this little poem. It's like an affirmation. And twists time a bit. Good poem!

Thank you JEF 😊
Looking forward to the next day has always been enough for me. I’ve been blessed in that I have never wanted anything in my life. I was always happy to live in the now. Every day is a gift

This is a nice way to welcome in a new day. Your poem speaks of positivity which I found to be the case in this line " sing to tomorrow a greeting of care" A greeting of care makes me think of of welcoming tomorrow with love and happiness. Before we go to sleep we should be thankful for the day we had, and have a sense of optimism for the day ahead! Thanks for sharing!

That's so sweet, I'm sure they must like that!
A very nice mediation here, something that could be read just before retiring to soothe the mind into sleep. Too many take the worries of the day to bed with them.

Thank you Red your review was wonderful to read.
With every new day comes new possibilities. At the end of a not so good day, we can live in hope that the morrow will be a fresh start. Lovely brevity Cherrie. Well done.

You are welcome Cherrie. Have a good Thursday :)
I am in tune with this poem, Cherrie! It is easy to take each new day for granted, but in reality every new day is a gift! We should try to make the most of these gifts as they come our way.
