Caress of Hand

Caress of Hand

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Turning the corner
today
I bumped into you
a brick wall
that took my breath away
I prepared not for you this day
frozen in step I did not move
no words
came to me
as I looked at you
merci
you offered me
as you passed me by
with only
a caress
of the hand

Sometimes it's those small, chance happenings, or instances that seem insignificant at the time that stay with us for hours, leaving a good feeling. (or bad) ha

True a connection made and or broken.
Those people who barely touch our life. Can leave us with wonder and thoughts dear Cherrie. I liked the twist of the words my dear friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I did enjoy dear Cherrie and you are welcome.
This is breathtaking... striking and special dear Cherrie. the most outstanding thing about it how You expressed a casual event yet "meant to be" coincidence reaching to the deepest of feelings, yet more amazingly how You did it with few simple words and line. Bravo my friend I so love this!

:) thank youJulie
Cherrie, I like this but am a little confused about the opening lines - the double use of turning: turned into you as in bumped into or became? I'm just a little muddled on the action that is occurring.

Turned the corner and bump ed into you
That brick wall when you face it can be daunting Cherrie. Fortunately it appears the situation did not turn into something persistent. Got to be thankful for that. Relatable work.
