Woolgathering

Woolgathering

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

Making a hot toddy tonight

"
Droplets of honey were frozen in wax.
As sugar coated petals lined the saucers edge.
Oil of bergamot danced in the pan
while ambered bourbon seeped in tea
and a sprig of a mint cuddled lavender of Spring.
Botanical aromas filled the air and the smokey
Spirits blushed my cheeks filling my emotions
With pleasant dreams.

Right...bergamot. Maybe you could call these short poems 'sprigs'. I like the double meanings at the end of this one. Spirits blushed my cheeks filling my emotion. Your spirit fills you as the spirits warm you filling your glass with the warmth of your heart, which I imagine is a little buzzed by now.

I have a cold and enjoy a good hot toddy from time to time.

I picked the title woolgathering cause it means daydreaming.
A lovely poem and recipe. But I must decline, alcohol is not my cup of ??? LOL

Perfect. ...
Personally, I much prefer a mug of hot apple cider. But I do see the attraction. Much like a well made Irish coffee.
Well written.
