Drifting Memories

Drifting Memories

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Now that the need for rest lulls you so well.

Warming both heart and soul in a cocoon of sleep.

Cradle over your heart the picture by the bed,

Give no concern to the tarnish of the frame,

But let those memories drift alongside you.

You are most welcome.

The tarnish is the memories. The heart and soul are the cradle. The dreams to come are the hope. From you, another nice fable!

Thank you. Guess I was thinking of those we've lost and get to visit from time to time in a dream.
This reminds me of a wish made to a drear one. Smooth, warm of heart, and well said.

Age does not tarnish memories. And as we age, we long for those dearest who have passed out of our lives. Do they wait to guide us beyond the Crystal Sea? Ate they the angels who fly beside us on the road? Who can say? But when we sleep, each dear visage, like visions, floats in our dreams. Well written, Cherrie.
