Your Slip Is Showing

Your Slip Is Showing

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

“Pardon me ma’am, but your slip is showing.”

“Yes,” she said with eyes not bright.

“But not my soul.”

Good morning Tony and thank you.
This is interesting. Its not what you wear and how you dress that shows people who you are, its whats inside that really matters. But people dont get that and are so quick to judge. Why is it that women have to cover themselves where as men dont? If anything, some men hage to learn to control themselves and what they say, its a two way street. Short but ppwerful, i like it!

Interesting. Eyes not bright. I wonder what we would see if her soul was showing? This is cute, Cherrie.

Love those that suddenly pop in our heads.
Yes, yes , yes. Slips, the venerable, agate white or grey chalcedony of the 19th century was worn by women as a burden of responsibility; as proof of the science of their sexuality, even when sexuality wasn't allowed. Even a peek of it showing was sexualized: the onomatomania dread or irresistible impulse of anyone who saw it. This poem paints quite the picture. One of great vanity and authority. And yes to the questions asked, they still sell slips if you can find them....great idea for a poem. dana

Do ladies actually still wear "slips"? I thought we'd got beyond that to show as much flesh as you possibly can and if you don't have it to show, why, just get some cosmetic surgery. Baring my soul has never been an issue with me. I used to wear my heart out on my sleeve but the sleeve was torn so many times, the heart was bound to be; painful thing, that. But, as a father of two daughters, I'm all for the application of maidenly modesty. I enjoyed.

I did very much, you're welcome.
If you read this in a certain way, it can be dirty. And I imagine, you had no intention of making it so but.... if a person who happened to have a lot of a certain amount of education were to read this.... they would probably say something like "you need to get layed". Doll face.

Just slipped into your brain, did it? It does make one wonder what you were thinking then fill the void with all the possibilities.Do we cover the privacy of our soul with the apparel of our convictions. Convictions that are sheer for some, heavily draped for others. Eyes not bright. She isn't happy with the condition of her soul maybe??
