Nestled in the Meadow

Nestled in the Meadow

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

The fullness of night nestled the meadow.
The firmament forgot to draw it's drapes,
while November's breath kissed the loam with lace.

Soon to be replaced by the morning sun.
The hart of the wood stoically rose,
rising in his grandeur to Autumn's zest.

Puffing adrenalin, and blazing smoke,
then lowing his head for the chase, he leapt.

Wonderful images. Reminds me of the morning a deer walked through our yard. Stared right in the window, she did. Thank you for reminding me that there is still beauty in God's green earth.

They are magnificent and yes it's time.
An awesome poem set in a nocturnal time in the meadow. The last two lines personified nature or a deer in particular? Kudos!!
Plz do read and comment my newest poem too titled " Dandy randy Tom cat'

The personification of nature is so lovely here. Your appreciation of all that is around you is powerful. I liked this. Lydi**

You know it. A buck almost bought my truck yesterday morning. Nose to the ground and on the hunt.
