Lumbering Sun

Lumbering Sun

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

The black road top is wet from rain,
and an ashen ridge of clouds creates an overhang.

The job of the sun is not yet seen, as he climbs for the easternmost peak.

A crimson glow is seen from behind.
As the sun summits the clouded line.

Just that quick the image shifts and like a tumbling tide the wall is split.

The shattered pieces drift away and a lumbering sun warms the day.

Beautiful images you create. So easy to see the wet, black road. Taking time to watch the sun ease its way to the mountain peak and then the brilliant crimson red. Having one remember "red sky at night, sailors delight."
Nicely done- Cherrie.

Take care - Dave
