Is This Love

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

Ballade à Moi A unique format with 3 seven or eight-line stanzas and a four line envoi, that repeats the last four rhymes of the penultimate stanza. See below for details:)

"

Is This Love?

Upon the wind you called to me,
and in that warm truth rose desire.
Your smoky timbre'd voice said, see.
Awakening my heart with fire.
Staring eyes of hungry sapphire,
Commanded me to freely come.
Basking in love's lilting attire,
and nevermore to be undone.

Your finger traced across my hand.
My trembling soul felt like a child.
Little words from you bade me stand,
with forever's dreams running wild.
Hoping you find my spell not mild.
You kiss my lips and it's begun.
Such pleasured fervor so beguiled,
and nevermore to be undone.

Then I tossed care upon the wind.
Within my need an urging flow,
again we caress skin to skin.
Tell me kindly so I can know.
Is this lust or  true love to grow?
Your warm embrace I will not shun.
Our rhythmic beats set us aglow,
and nevermore to be undone.

Lover, friend, confidant and beau.
Without your love there is no sun.

Together we can face the valleys low.
So, kiss me dear for we have won.

Good job on writing a double ballade and thank you for sharing out-of-the-ordinary poetry, it's always a delight to see such ventures and creativity. I read your poem twice, for the ballade and for pleasure. Knowing what I was reading really added to the enjoyment, for understanding the rhyme scheme gave me something to look forward to. My favorite part is the last, beautiful line. tyfs

This is strange but yet incredibly insightful. One of a kind! Nothing can describe how well this has been carefully put together. You’re a very talented writer. I can see years of experience at play here. It’s nearly a masterpiece. I can’t fault it at all.
