Moon Lover's Delight

Moon Lover's Delight

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Glowing stars that dance.
Hypnotic in all their ways;
ask them to arise.

Yes Fireflies arose.
Rested in all their repose.
Mimicked twinkling orbs.

Fade by light of day.
They, that yield to sunshine rays.
Await for night to sing.

The moon-vine says when
With alabaster skin.
So, softly arrayed.

A single bulb glows.
Waiting on pedals of white.
Broadcasting Morse code.

This poem is so full of imaginative imagery! It makes me want to write about the upcoming Beaver Moon. I love how you bring on the fireflies & stars, making this a coming-together of all the heavenly lights! I also love the word alabaster, which I don't think I've ever used! (((HUGS)))

I have a idea to tell a short story this way. I guess this is my practice run.
I enjoyed reading this poem Cherrie. I could just easily see the fireflies dancing around in the images you descriptively paint in your poem. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

Thank you Carlos:)
dearest Cherrie... you are a Moon Child with Heavens smile...
You speak the language of the Stars... a lullaby for sighs... softly, Pat

Second line I read as "their ways"---
This is such a remind of the summer, which again has come and gone, along with those fireflies, beautiful skies full of stars...green grass and heat.
I really like the personification in this, Cherrie,
