Velveteen Wrap

Velveteen Wrap

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Dim light plumes to dusk,

as a velveteen wrap nestles across the day.

Whispering vespers lend to rest,

While silent stars extend hope for a new day.

Evening cloaked in the thought of the impending stars and sleeping land. this was a feeling beautifully expressed in a handful of words. Beautiful.

Thank you 😊
Ahh, reminiscent of my child like thinking that night was only God drawing the curtains, with all the twinkly bits sewn in place.
I think I spent my childhood thinking god must spend half his time up and down the worlds biggest ladders! 😊

Hmm, I may have a thought. Probably not, but you never know! 😊

Well when you get done mulling it over-I can't wait to see it.
I remember a Jim Croce song he did with his wife Ingrid called "Vespers" but the call to evening prayer evokes the calm here and a look to the twinkling sky. Nicely done. F.

That is truly lovely, thank you Carlos.
I saw a metaphor here like the day was wrapped up and done not sure if I was supposed to

I also love the wording velveteen wrap and silent stars extend hope for a new day
Beautiful thanks for the share !
