Cancer is the most evil of crossroads - seems you're walking a wonderfully well lit path, Cherrie. Smiling and cheering silently but - with great respect. My family knows how it is - each and every one would and will admire your words. Take care, dear lady-friend.

Thank you Emma. :) We are taking each day as it comes and trusting God with each step.
wow! well done .. you use the form making "Cancer" a powerful punch .. kind of rocked me back on me heels it did .. the consonance and character I was building as I read gave no hint as to the nature of your theme .. closing line revives me with gladness and hope .. so simple a poem .. reading has affected me this morning Cherrie!

We are never more alive than when we are forced to fight for what until then has been taken for granted. Recently read a book called the optimism bias by Tali Sharot that showed not only a massive improvement on the quality of life for survivors, but that it is the one thing that keeps its ups when things we strive for, like a massive lottery win balances out to previous happiness, or unhappiness levels after a relatively short time. It is unique in deserving the title survivor.

Yes, I agree. Death will come to us all, we but not live in fear, but enjoy the time we have.
One of my best friends is battling breast cancer right now. She is tough but even this can beat the toughest fighter. I pray for her every day.

My stand on the subject is, if we fight it never wins.
