SurrenderA Poem by Cherrie Palmerthe wearing of the greenThe silent sleep of Winter threw back her downy coat, and stretching there with limbs once bare she wears a gown of silk. Silence is now suspended, for the whippoorwill sings of want, and the Springtime hat that the weaver hatched is complete with a brood of chicks. And the whirling wind Sets her heart to spin Mending Winter’s corset. So, fronds of chenille so tender, reverberate upon the breeze, and against the Sun waxen pedals surrender. © 2021 Cherrie PalmerFeatured Review
