No-ter-day

No-ter-day

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

playing with words served on the rocks

"

Yesterday has past

And I cannot wait for tomorrow

And with one more drink

I uncover Noterday

Where I do not have to think of you.

I try the drink. Doesn't work. Hello dear Cherrie, I did like the poem. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

No drinking never fixes anything, but here before long I want to place that scene in a story. :)

I agree dear Cherrie..
Although I don't understand all of this poem, I think I get the basic idea. It's a very creative poem and different than normal poems. Have a Great Thanksgiving! -Kay

I admire you for pinpointing that elusive & futile state some people seem to be seeking -- to be outside the day-to-day -- longing for something that hasn't materialized yet while bemoaning what's slipping away. This might be the complete opposite of living in the moment -- living without any moment! Nice made-up word to label this state of non-existence (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I have drunk ex-loves away...
didn't feel too spiffy the next day...
and the memories all returned anyway.
so didn't do me much good.

Lol so true, at some point I am going to work this into a story.
LOL! 💯% amazing!!!

Cherrie, only YOU could invent NOterday.
And, here I was thinking yesterday, today, and tomorrow was more than anyone could contend with … now, comes "noterday".
I simply love it, because it allows me to avoid thinking altogether.

Anytime I become overwhelmed, I'll just slip into noterday … MMmmm, such a thought!
Thanks a zillion for inventing "Noterday", M'Keen-minded lady Poet! ⁓ Richard🍃

Noterday starts every evening at 7pm :) just after dinner whither we need it or not ( new rule).
I always thought having yes in yesterday was a silly idea, but if I were you I would copyright that idea, as I could see noterday really catching on 😊

How many poems have been served on the rocks lol! Interesting piece as the protagonist drowns their sorrows while seemingly determined to move on.
