America's Song

America's Song

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

Cowritten by Richard and myself

"
Across the land there sings a voice;
it tells of ways we're not sure of,
In every song, there lives a choice
to withhold all, or give with love.

Tho' sparsely heard, the voice rings low,
a tiny soul not sure of self,
he sits alone in his chateau,
what he would not, trade for his health.

While struggling to find his breath,
hard-stricken by dark, unseen foe,
so little stands 'tween life and death,
it's not his choice to stay or go.

A mother's tears anoint her babe,
as God's grace concurs fate.
By morning light the fever fades,
and for this good news we all wait.

O' blessed be, thank the good Lord,
let's genuflect and say a prayer,
that all the world is so adored …
every innocent's in His care.

Very heartfelt words Cherrie and Richard with their promise. I am a little confused though. The words, with mention of fever and breathe seem from today but you have the date 2016. Whichever, they have a universal relevance.
Take care.
Alan

hello, Alan, and I hope you and your family is doing well, and yes 2016, was just a typo,
A lovely collaboration from gifted poets who blend the
meaning of sequestered in a garden... forgotten by time.
truly, Pat

sounds like one voice which is really what is wanted with a collaboration...And we do need more love and faith during this crisis, rather than finger pointing and spewing hate at others.
We won't beat this thing unless we unite, even in our separation.
Well done you two.
