Oh the veil that shrouds your soul That fancy fringe that follows the fray and flows freely from place to place It dangles just out of my grasp My pursuit to rent this arras from your heart evades me Just as your essence allures me Could I with word or deed draw you in, Would you take a smile as proof of my intent
Goodness, Cherrie!
Who could possibly say no to such a lilting, softly-irresistible, entreating voice. 🎶
Sheer romantic sensuality oozes from every word, to weaken the most determined resolve.
I love a love poem, and one can easily grasp how intent this sizzlingly tender verse truly is.
Enchanting, Cherrie, amorously so … my kind of poetry! ⁓ Richard 🍃

Cherrie, as your poem offers, I think every romance starts with a smile. Sometimes it takes the stronger person to break through the veil of another, and when the smile is returned, the proof is evident. The strength of this poem lies in the sincerity and tenderness. I also love the artwork. That veil-like white is mesmerizing. Lovely work, Cherrie.

That light is called 'the hem of his garment' I would love to see it in the flesh.
this poem has such "allure" to me...having experienced this enough times...loving someone who is incapable of loving back because of past hurt...and I, too, have hurt people in the past because i could not get past my own---and I hated only being able to love up to a point and then stopping.
really strong poem.

I've been listening to Wordsworth and Coleridge and wanted to take a stab at a bit of old flavor.
