dear Cherrie... I remember those days when our
children were sleeping babes. We loved and nourished them.
Now they have children of their own. We watch them grow and develop
and experience the beauty of nature and how the wind blows the
willow trees and many other mysteries. A beautiful poem of fulfillment
and wonderment. truly, Pat

It's so true, we negotiate life everything between growing up, and making babies, then out of no where we settle back to watch our babies do the same, and that never gets old.
The circle of life indeed. Like father like son, like mother like daughter. It must be in the genes, or the economic circumstances which I've found have a lot to do with it.
Nice one, Cherrie. The short sentences make the flow faster which in a lot of cases grabs the readers attention.

Time always moves on.
One minute you're bringing them up, the next minute they're bringing the kids round to you.
On the plus side, you get to give them back.
Thank you David.

It all has it's place and we all have our tastes. Simple is usually better and also usually harder.

I'm not one to deliberate over the piece, I try to let it simply unfold.Truth be told I'm more of a shoot from the hip writer. Now when I'm done I will fuss over words. Some to swap out, others to cut altogether.
If I can't get it to flow I chop it, or tuck it away till my perspective changes.

There's always going to be a few writers who can paint beautiful pictures with complex and long winded prose but they are few and far between... Old Billy Shakespeare is my favorite example of that. But I've always been more partial to word economists like Cormac McCarthy. That whole "say a lot in a few words" kinda thing, ironically, takes more effort and requires a more deliberate grasp on the subject matter.

You have captured so well here Cherrie what happens within family situations. Rarely does everything turn out hunky dorey. There are many complications on the way when you raise children. They certainly tests your wits to the extremes at times, but then what would life be without them? Pretty empty.
