A Valentine's Bless You

A Valentine's Bless You

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

we can't always be well on this romantic day

"

Somehow,  a card finds its way to each pillow.

Resting between  Kleenex

instead of Russell Stover’s.

No wine to hoist a toast

Just toast and juice shared between a

blown nose.

A bless you here and a bless you there.

And a NyQuil induced nap will leave us here.

Those cold remedies need to be given a wider berth me thinks as the protagonist, taken to bed ill, still contemplates boldly!

Oh, so sorry you weren't well on this day of love! That box of Kleenex just isn't a good enough substitute for a box of Russell Stover's.....please do make up for it when you are feeling better, and have two boxes!

I do understand this poem. Raised four children and I have three grand-boys. I liked the hiding of the card under the pillow. Wonderful poetry shared dear Cherrie.

Sorry to hear that but winter seems to be the season for sickness
And a true loved one will be your side no matter what.
I hope you feel better.

I think I'm on the mend down to just a cough. Its been a fun four days.
A Nyquil induced nap sounds pretty good on this rainy, blustery day. Remember, if you run out of kleenex, just grab a roll of toilet paper!
