Like A Concerto

Like A Concerto

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

fleeting memories

"

My faceless beauty

time has taken

 thine silhouette from me.

You waltz there in the mist

of yesterday.

I cling to the hope of remembering

Here in the shadow of dread.

Like a concerto playing in my

memory I reach for us once again.

I picked up on loss here, a deep loss. A permanent loss where the only hope is being able to remember the past. Poignant words Cherrie. "Here in the shadow of dread" not a good place to be.

I mixed a lot of feelings together for this. Thank you for your soulful insight
This is a sadly painted portrait of "someone missing" done in dreary tones yet with dynamic imagery. It feels like looking into one of those mirrors that reflects multiple distorted versions, the way you offer fluctuating moods using lighter musical ideas bouncing off "shadows of dread." The overall confusion of contrasts is how the depths of grief can really feel (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You know how it is I get an idea and just let it take me somewhere
I'm not sure what the word tread refers to? To age is to see differences we don't always want to see. Some age gracefully and most wish they knew the secret behind that. Getting older sucks. But losing someone we loved, someone we thought was forever is also hard as hell.

In short, I have no idea what I'm talking about. :p
