This poem has thrown me into the midst of the beauty of fall. Each line puts me in a trance and I just fall in love with fall all over again. Which is cool because it kind of feels like it’s talking about the end of fall and then it ends on reminiscing which makes me consider reminiscing the good things like fall.
I think the rhymes are perfect. The last stanza is interesting in how it drops the rhyming. I think this kind of works with the ending idea of reminiscing if that makes sense.
“Leaves, once spars now look like the sea” is my favorite line.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this!

Thank you H.L.
I often change up the cadence to a poem. I like the change in flow it gives.
Apart from the threat of snow here actually beiing snow, this could have been about the view here this morning. The crackling wood line really played in my ears and for a moment I felt a gentle thawing, as my mind relaxed into thoughts of Keats keeping you company.
I began reading Keats again recently, after a long time, which made me wonder why it had been so long.
A really atmospheric piece, filled with all our sadness of what is to come, as well as the thought of when we will see those colours again.
Beautiful words.

I think this winter will be filled with snow angles and renewed love of words lost.
That first line hooked me. The word threat is great in the context that no one loves to drive in snowy conditions but it can be beautiful to watch. This really does evoke the feeling of Fall. The feeling that although you love how Fall can bring cool, comfortable weather while sipping a spiked hot beverage, the balance can be thrown off any day by early snow falls and wind chills. Love it.

I love the transition of the seasons
Here in Michigan. Cold and snow had found us. It is nice when the Winter days are here. Slow down, drink coffee and spend quiet days with the family. A wonderful poem shared dear Cherrie.

Real cold now here in Michigan and you are welcome Cherrie.
dear Cherrie... autumn was beautiful this year... leaving a blanket of gold and red under sugar maple trees. The log fire was our reprieve as winds blew and winter set in. Your poem is exactly the way it was. Now sleet and rain is here, but tomorrow there will be sunshine. truly, Pat

This write is so warm and cozy, an invitation to cuddle up with autumn, to let autumn protect us from big bad winter. :):). The love for the season is palpable. I’m not a huge fan of autumn, but your poem makes a great argument. :)
Autumn....yes, a wonderful season and my personal favourite.
Very descriptive and a poem that sure paints the picture in the mind of the reader. Loved the Yeats reference! The perfect poet for the wood fired nights of fall.
I can smell, see and feel this in technicolor....ahhhh. I love this time of year, it seems a time to reconnect, with ourselves and loved ones. Loved this girl!!!!
