Home Among The Lilies

Home Among The Lilies

A Poem by Cherrie
"

Water lilies

"
Tarn of glass or churning tide
you clean the water as you ease the mind.
Your gift is your beauty.
You are a springtime treat
and I long for your blooming
my flower amongst the reeds

Thank you, Pete. I enjoyed the mental image this created and I am glad you found it peaceful.
beautiful and mournful...and i really like the Slant Rhyme you use in this...adds to the allure. Reminds me a bit of Ophelia.

I really like that you enjoyed the flow and rhyme.
Water lilies; I was told they were lotuses, but no...the lotus rises above the water, the water lilies lie upon its surface.
When I was ten, I went to a museum and saw Monet's water lilies painting. Never having seen an impressionist painting before, I concluded that Claude Monet was as nearsighted as I was!
This is a lovely, tranquil write,Cherrie. Very nice!

Nature is a most abundant gift. We needn't seek happiness when it is there before us for the taking. Such a lovely sentiment in this piece, Cherrie!

Thank you, :) inner peace is one of God's best gifts I do find so much peace in nature.
Great details & imagery to paint a scene I may not have ever seen or imagined, but I love when a writer sees & shares aspects of nature (especially) that are new to me! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
