Come On Let's Dance

Come On Let's Dance

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

some elder-something fun

"
I love to watch you move
see your swagger
you've never lost your groove
Baby, I loved you then
Still love you now.
Come on baby let's dance.

What

You've thrown your hip out.
Sure, I'll get the door.

haaaa! YOU are really good, You made me smile WIDE.. lol but still it's a sad truth..., what's more beautiful than to still love the same, whatever comes, whatever happens, how beautiful it is to see two elders still holding their hands gently, passionately... oh my wide smile becoming unexpectedly gentle tears now...

True....unfortunately
Went to the half term disco two weeks ago; (helping out only.) Charlie my son is eleven going on twelve and the way he and the rest of the kids threw themselves around made me feel quite dizzy; though I confess, I much prefer a slow, slow, quick quick slow dance nowadays. :))

Fun poem, thanks.

Beccy.

Pre-teen what fun. I remember the kids at 11/12. They are a silly good time.
Hilarious & playful & affectionate! You have a loving way of spoofing life's curses in a realistic way. Just this one little glimpse says so much about how an old couple gets thru their days, darting in & out of fantasy & reality! *wink! wink!* (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Lol, that's me. I moan every time I move. Me getting out of a chair sounds like a scene from Harry met Sally

You bet anytime :)
A sweet, fun dance across time, carrying us all into the loving days ahead. May we all find a way to keep dancing even when knees and hips are added on later!

Thank you, it was fun to write
Cherrie, you got me! I didn't see past the first stanza. Then, your "what" and I laughed at the last two lines. I'll be fifty this year, so I guess I can laugh now. Might be my future soon. Thanks for the laugh.

Well at almost 54 I must say I too find it funny
I like your humor. That is probably why men past a certain age say that dancing is for sissies. We're scared of what you just mentioned. CD
