' I will join the Eastern wind and travel with you on a breeze.' Should be the last thing said.. and, the first when time invites.
This echoes, more dramatically, that one should tell people you love them every day or at least, show that you do so. So many emotions are kept inside for fear of seeming 'soppy' but loving or missing someone after you and he/she have parted from sound and touch is a desperate sadness. Your poem says how it should be.

I have written poems as if from someone who has left me from the earthly plane, but I never thought about writing from the opposite point of view! I enjoy good writing from an unexpected point of view . . . and I also love that you paint death with upbeat anticipation rather than the dreariness that some may envision. It's incongruous to think of one's own death in such terms & that's why I love your poem (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Such a bittersweet write! When the end of life is near, it is important to tell our loved ones they must go on. Beautiful expression of emotions. Lydi**
beautifully said says i! we need this open honesty at the time and during the process of dying .. which actually, after a point, is every day ;) i can be the speaker dying or the speaker at the bedside of one who is passing on ..or one already in Heaven waiting for one who is getting ready ..love this poem ..very fine subject matter handled with empathy and maturity .. nice one for sure!
