Blessing of Rain

Blessing of Rain

A Story by Cherrie
"

just a thought

"

Twenty years we spent in the city my husband, and I. We wore a uniform and served it proud. The graveyard shift was a backdrop for us and weather our constant enemy. That’s the way it is in the city, weather is only a friend on a fair sky night. However, This Monday I spent the day in a slicker sorting cows, feeding our mares and working  our 3 yr old Rojo Valentine colt, out in the pouring rain. I topped the day with a game of hide-n-seek by seeking out the eggs the chickens so graciously hide for me and now that I have spent quite a bit of time doing both I find here in the country, weather works alongside of you. From days of rain to killer days of heat, they all serve the land; though at times her timing does not serve man and for that I am eternally grateful.

Since the beginning, it has been nature's way. Only in the last handful of decades has man been able to avoid the elements, spending time inside with a controlled climate. I admit to now being spoiled, but wish I was healthy enough to go hunt for those eggs.

You are welcome
fine, fine sketching Cherrie. quit should be quite on the tenth line down.

We lived a city life for thirty years, now off the grid homesteaders... funny how one makes that choice. Fortunate that we still can.
