Pain

Pain

A Poem by Cherishmemorys
"

This poem is about mental abuse. Mental abuse is just as bad as physical and no one deserves it. There are people in this world that will manipulate you and make you seem like everything is your fault

"
Your words kill
You speak to me with no regret
Tears shed down my face as you're ripping me apart
You keep yelling at me.
I sit in silence unable to defend myself, knowing better
Having hope that over time your pain will heal and in return stop my misery
Taking your life stress on me, knowing you were causing me heartache
I stand by your side as I allow you to walk all over me
How can you do this to the one "you love"?
Why do you belittle me?

Nothing can change the way I feel now
I can only take so much
You're making me crazy
What should I do?
I'm so lost
You say you'll change

Scared
Overwhelmed
Anxious
STOP!!!

I'm standing strong with both feet on the ground
No turning back
No more pain
Your words kill, but will kill me no longer

The message of this piece is so true. Mental abuse can cause harm just as much (or perhaps more) than physical abuse. The first line couldn't describe it any better.

I could relate to this piece -- not because I've been mentally abused, but because I've mentally abused someone before. To this day, I regret my actions, and unfortunately, I'll probably never get the chance to aplogize ... I know an apology probably won't make things better, but it would be good to let my emotions out.

I'm glad you could share such a personal poem that can teach people an important lesson.

Abusive situations is never a position one wants to be in, if you value yourself withdraw yourself from any situation that will cause you pain, both mentally and physically, it's not worth the pain, learn to abstain from the lust of the brain.
