Why Do We Lie?

Why Do We Lie?

A Story by Cherishmemorys

Everyone lies. We lie because we think we are protecting someone or protecting ourselves. Do you ever think how that lie would effect someone else's life? Whether this lie is a so called "white lie" or a big lie it should be treated the same.

Nobody is perfect. When you lie to other people you are lying to yourself. You are living a lie. Who are you really protecting when you feel the need to lie? Are you ashamed? Feel like the truth might change the dynamic of a situation? In my opinion that lying from the beginning was your choice. This only changes the dynamic of that lie back to being simple again. When the truth reveals itself there will most likely be consequences.

Don't point fingers at someone else when you are not even honest with yourself. Be honest with yourself and the truth will come out. Being dishonest causes heartache, turmoil, hatred and many other things. How will that person act when they know you lied? Anger comes to mind, deceit, trust issues that all could have been avoided.

A lie should be treated all the same. It all has the same effect. Once you lie it might be hard to stop. How long can you keep up with it? Does lying to yourself make you feel better? Everyone is ashamed of somethings that might have happened in the past. Are we escaping reality?

Be honest and move on with a situation. Feel better about yourself. Think about the consequences of the lie. Be true to yourself.

it's very conversationally written, in this case the repetition works for the reference of a flowing thought process. It also lets you jump from one paragraphs to the next in a pretty cohesive manner and I respect the honest expression you're invoking with such a personal subject.

good job keep it up :)
