Chapter Three: Michelle's Dillema

A Chapter by Ari and Sylph
"

Michelle is having a hard time getting to Haurtington Hall.

"

 Michelle’s Perspective.

“Taxi! Taxi! Thank you.” I said as I climbed into the cab.

“Hola Senorita!”  The taxi driver greeted me. “Where to??”

“Urm.. just to the next Gas station at least. Would you by chance have any idea where this letter came from??” I asked as I pulled the letter out of my jacket pocket.

      Dear Parents of/and Michelle Torres;

Your Daughter has been chosen to attend Haurtington Hall Academy, a college for Wizardry, Magicians, and the  home of the legendary Dragon Ryders. Parents may be allowed one meeting with the headmaster to determine whether or not   the child may or may not see fit to go. Many scholars have graduated from Haurtington Hall and have become very  successful in their work. You will be taught first-rate talents including all that is needed for a Dragon Rider, or DragonWarrior, Wizardry, leadership, etc. You are invited to attend a banquet held in the school’s honour precisely in one month from now at the academy in order to reveal the child's true colour.

The time to register for the academy will be at the exact time as the banquet.

Many people have applied, but only a very choice few are chosen to enter. This is like any other academy, which will  have dorms, dining rooms, and provide clothing if not available (Please note: Not Uniforms!!!!)  We prefer that you do not tell anyone that you have
received this letter you please, unless the person is a parent, trusted  friend, or Guardian of a student.

Please inform us beforehand if any of you do not want to attend this academy!
 Sincerely,

 Professor Cedric Aurthor Cobbletone

The cabdriver read the note over and over again with that same look of disbelief everyone had shown. After a long while he took a deep breath and looked at me.

“W-where did you get this?”

I paused for a moment and thought it over for a while. Was it really worth telling him? I guess I have to, now that I presented it to him..

“My parents came into the house with it. They seemed excited.. And now I’m confused. They said I should go, so, here I am.”

The cabdriver said unintelligible curses in English and sped off in his clunker. I groaned. That’s the 5th one that has done this.

“Well, that's just grand.” I muttered. “It was probably just a scam.”
I kicked at a beer can, sending it whirling through the air and into some drunk’s lap.

I’d been sitting on that curb for maybe a little over a half hour, when at the crack of dusk, I saw a team of Clydesdales pulling a beautiful golden coach towards me. An elderly man jumped out, wearing blue duck slippers with a square shaped spectacle behind his ear.

He sauntered toward me, and I questioned my sanity when I heard the duck slippers quack.“Madame Torres.” He said formally, “I’ve heard you were in a rather tight spot! I’m Cedric Cobbleton. Hop On!
