guilty as charged

guilty as charged

A Poem by ChemicalMadness

do you remember
               when you smiled
     at my
     clever?

all feigned disbelief
     and pointed
intention

suspended there
     we were

          initial
          substantial
          consequential

almost laugh
 tucked
      just so
          behind your ear

i knew

          because
     i always could
smell
          complicit

no one
     ever embraced
tacit
     like the arms
                         of our

collusion

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed....
CM.
i like the line penny pointed out as my favorite...there is a texture to your work that is so different from others...you are one voice that stands out, always...

"because i always could smell complicit" and reading your words i feel this sense of "collusion" with another poet.
'do you remember when you smiled at my clever?
love the use of clever as a noun...

Thanks,'Jacob.

There's a nice bond here with someone. I do believe that intimacy begins first with the mind. My fave line has to be "no-one ever embraced tacit like the arms of our collusion" - I love this. Penny
