The style, the lay-out, of this wonderful write is dancing all the way - just as a flirtation or affair does.. each person showing this or that side of character, personality, need or whatever.
You place phrases very finely too, not too clever and yet full of thought, ' .. almost laugh
tucked
just so
behind your ear.. '
At end there's a feeling that the collusion was somewhat pleasant.. !!
Oooh snarky and clever, two my favorite things...sounds like my last relationship, ended in collusion, I love the 'almost laugh tucked behind the ear'....
I love the way you began this poem, how most ladies begin a love affair, all sweetness and light and soft eyelid fluttering coos about how sharp, how cool, how clever and while it may not always be the gospel, it is at the moment a great truth of the infatuated, even if a bit feigned at times for maximum effect. A wonderful wink at the courting rituals of he's and she's :)
Perhaps a love affair, any love affair, is complicit as it participates in every wrongful act
under the sun. The things done as sex today May 3, 2014, would get you thrown in jail as recently
as 1975. Wrong, according to some moral standard, the wrong that we though was static
and unchanging, has morphed into the written and accepted good. I love the structure here,
the way the poem looks on the page. It reminds me of a painful, spasmodic contraction of
muscles....like the moments of the old, after lovemaking.
Hopefully you find something in some of my words here...If not, there is beauty in the music (which is not mine, clearly). Listen....always listen. more..
