back there

A Poem by ChemicalMadness

travel me
  like you used to

inside and impossible
  exploring my
  bloodstream

quiet veins
  never before
  so rushed

sweet deafness swept now
to silence

and i’m terrified
  to hear my heart’s beat
again

this beginning’s end
  has chased all
  the life from me

i lie in defense
  climbing whats left of
  early adventures
  and blinding confidence
like memories can be scaled
conquered
captured
   put up
         sickly sweet
         but preserved

for another season

  when all we’d do
is begin and begin and begin
repeating meaningless words
until our feet sink deep
   in the soil of us

this time, like the last
  we’ll ignore the map
                                 again

this is a very interesting write...we want that person back to make our heart beat again, but even so, we know that it would be the same...we wouldn't learn from the mistakes, we would travel the exact same path, make the same errors and end up at the very same spot we did before...only a memory.

nicely done.
