did you find everything you were looking for today?

did you find everything you were looking for today?

A Poem by ChemicalMadness

some things
so simple
lost even
now
to eyes training
for exercises other
than these

you sought without
knowing.....
the upside of skirting
thoughts?
not caring to remember what
wanting
bought

it was there
slid soft in fragranced tones
lingering across glass
countertops
just a smile with no
care to conceal
an invitation stamped
with the breath of a
thousand prayers exhaled

place me in your pocket
sign me
account for our
transaction
like it could never be

returned

Sometimes we are too close to what we really desire... and got blind. This speaks out loud my friend.
Be at peace, for it shall be your day once... if you see her again :D

This reminds me of a scene from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"...when Clark is buying lingerie from a sales woman...It's hilarious! (not that this write is funny) lol
I enjoyed the reading this intriguing piece... especially the third stanza, a soft alluring invitation.
Well penned, CM. :)

we search for love, like in a department store...hope to find love that will be returned, yet not returned because it was defective, but because the transaction was a two way street...and it was a happy ride home from the store.
very cool the way you did this.

i could smell the perfume from across the counter..the enticing scent of a sale...let's just hope what is in the bottle is worth the cost of believing.

the greatest of things are usually found when we are not even looking for them. the answers that elude us and seemingly dangle from the tips of our tongues until hours or days later doing some menial routine it just pops into our heads. and we wonder about the signs and signals we send and receive. did she get it? does she know? am i reading this right? or is she just being polite? it all hinges on a moment where we ask our very eyes not only to look...but to see. nice metaphorical twist cm.

you sought without
knowing.....
the upside of skirting
thoughts?
not caring to remember what
wanting
bought

thought provoking imagery cleverly worded. nice work.

Such a melancholy vibe I get from this one...of course I am probably "projecting". I love the metaphors that you have used, as well as the word choice. "thousand prayers exhaled"--such a beautiful thought.

You have stepped it up a notch with this one; it seems to dig so very deep into the emotional well. I enjoyed this very much!
