what stories are these
we weave
with such skill
holding tight
like picture frames
blind to our content
we protect
and display
giving to eyes
expectant to see
the same sunset
off center
the same memories
dust-trapped and
laid thin
beneath the fragile glass
like magicians we prey
on those who would believe
like misfit traffic cops
officers are we
of misdirection
Ah, quite interesting thoughts laid out in a poetic manner! I liked the very last portion, where you've written:
like misfit traffic cops
officers are we
of misdirection
That was a really creative way of expressing writers (I believe that's what this poem is about – the "we" are those who write?).
Good job! You have a way with words.

I wrote this rather quickly and let's just say I've enjoyed reading everyone's reactions. To me, writing is all about interpretation...everyone will derive different value and meaning from a piece, so ive found my intent is largely irrelevant ;)
"officers are we
of misdirection"--interesting idea
I quite like this idea. We are weavers of stories, emotions, feelings, and what are we except for people who put words on pages in order to evoke emotion in others? Misdirection...that's a concept to think upon. How do we use this power we weild, and how do we display it? Who are we really, and do we really know (or care) who the people around us are? I think this one left me with more questions than answers. Nicely penned.

Tonight is the kind of night you sit down to write and only beginnings will reveal themselves. In the middle of writing, I realized I had written 3-4 beginnings...nothing was going anywhere, but everything was starting. We'll see where it goes.
Hopefully you find something in some of my words here...If not, there is beauty in the music (which is not mine, clearly). Listen....always listen. more..
