Her Smile

Her Smile

A Poem by ChemicalMadness

Her smile is born incandescent
A mask of wheaty resplendence
The truth cannot hide in her eyes:
I am the god of Cheerios
raining down circular sustenance
Cheerio bringer
This may be the pinnacle of my existence
Bestower of happiness
Meeter of needs most pure

The elements stir around us
Her smile continuous
unbridled. Unencumbered.
So much to unknow once you really know
And the smile in her eyes
tells me
she understands
it's impossible to unknow....
which is precisely why
She sits so high
on her throne
and shines her sideways smiles
on me
giving me her unknowing
Bestowing sustenance of her own

I think you are the God of intensity...even in the simplest subjects you possess a depth that is bound to excrete a rich soulfulness that cannot be overlooked. You are a barer of something real and honest and deeply connected to electrical pulses that rattle the mind as well as soul and smiles:) Great Job here!

It's impossible to unknow. Who hasn't wished that wasn't true..? To sit high on the throne again.. Loved the use of cheerios in this. Not to mention that last line. :)

This, more than anything else here, is the reason I started writing again. It makes my heart smile .. read more
This poem def starts with "I am the god of Cherrios" Lovely line! I'd go with that image/theme -- makes the speaker so much more interesting than the 'she'

I love this. A smile that reaches the eyes rings true and pure. I love your imagery with the
cheerios. I love the language and the sentence construction in these lines:

it's impossible to unknow....
which is precisely why
She sits so high
on her throne
and shines her sideways smiles
on me
giving me her unknowing
Bestowing sustenance of her own

A very impressive poem.
