Stereotyped

Stereotyped

A Poem by thecheesyone

These fabrics we wear do not define us,

Although they may align us into a group of judgment I refuse to acknowledge.

Hispter, gangster, muslim, jew, rich, poor…

I can no longer handle this any more!

Yes a glance may strike the imagination to brew,

But we need to just cleanse our minds a new.

Because who are we to make assumptions,

From the glance of a bandana, burka, or tattoo,

For we are all souls accompanied by a body for a few.

These judgments and interpretations will lead to blurred vision.

Where the eyes will then begin to create false illusion.

For if this happens, detox your mind,

So you can open to see we are all one of a kind.

Powerful! The desire to place us into a specific category, judging us by what people see, you said "...we are all one of a kind", so true. Who are we to judge. So well done!
