Into the darkness

A couple goes into an abandoned house but only one of them returns.

During a cold autumn night a couple was wondering through an old abandoned path, while being engulfed by darkness. Stumbling into an old building in the forest, the short girl looks up at the boy wanting to go inside. He fights with her for a moment but then gives in. The structure of the building was constructed countless years ago, so it was incredibly run down by the time this young couple discovers it. The girl let go of holding the boys hand and ran all about the yard. It was beautiful with the moon light reflecting upon this abandoned site.

She ran all around looking for a place to squeeze into to explore this magnificent palace. Upon finding a window in the back that wasn’t locked she calls to the boy to come help her get in. The boy was quite taller so this was a simple task for him, but he protests against it, for having a bad feeling about the entire place. She pleads with him until he admits defeat and helps her up. After she had made her way in he struggles to get in but succeeds. The floor screams and whines with every step they take into the dark mysterious place. There is no source of light anywhere so all they could see is lit from the light of the moon.

The brave couple walks into the cold and eerie basement. The boy being quite resourceful pulls out a light from his pocket and shines it around. They explore the many rooms that are so quiet that they could hear the vermin scampering around. They turn into a room; it being so dark they hadn’t realized that there was blood on the floor. They continue on to the next room never noticing of what was left behind. They find another staircase leading down further into this sinister palace never knowing what has gone on before them. The hear something that is not mice or rats. It’s louder and moves slower. The sound is not so far away and the girl being courageous walks towards it to find out what it was. When she got to the area were the sound originated she looks around finding that the room was illuminated red. The room has dark crimson blood splattered across the wall and table. The girl being so frightened screams and the boy comes running to see what she had found. He takes one glance into the gruesome room and grabs the girl who is so terrified that she was on the ground crying. Carrying the crying girl, he makes it to the top of the staircase to find that someone or something had locked them down there. Panicking the he tries to figure out if there was another way. There was nothing the only way that was open was forward going further into what had now seemed like a death trap. The way was suddenly lit by a soft candle light. Scared of what was to come they stay by each other. They made their way back into the crimson filled for that way was the only room with what looked to have another staircase. They looked around and found a note. The girl spoke to the boy explaining it hadn’t been there before. The boy picks it up and read, “Two shall walk into the darkness but in the end only one will return.” They both thought that it was just a big joke. The girl began to scream for someone to come out and say something. No one appeared this was no joke.

A crash echoed throughout the entire labyrinth. It sounded as if it was getting closer and closer. The girl running in front of the boy thinking it was just a friend. She didn’t see it coming. Out of nowhere a shadowed figure drags her into the chamber. She screamed for the young boy but he couldn’t open the door for it was sealed shut. The boy never forgot what he heard that night. The spine chilling screams and begging for help. Turning around he heard the squeak of the doors opening back to the main floor of the house. It took so much out of him to leave her in that damned place. Once he made it outside he heard a gun shot in the distance he ran faster and further. The girl was never found and the boy spoke no longer a single word to anyone sense that disheartening tragedy. The cursed couple never knew that a creature was rumored to live there after the misfortune that happened many years before to a similar pair. The house was always locked and covered so that it could never escape. That night the boy never noticed, but he left the window open.
